Emerald Coast Herons

Artists! We are embarking on an exciting project to place a sedge of 20 herons scattered about Okaloosa County. We are looking for artists who reside in Okaloosa County to design these "Emerald Coast Herons."

This project involves painting pre-fabricated 5 foot tall  three-dimensional fiberglass herons with one-of-a-kind designs. These herons will then be placed in various locations around Okaloosa County, such as park entrances, business fronts, municipal buildings, and other locales. Our goal is to help raise awareness of the arts in our beautiful community.

This project is quite an undertaking, and involves following specific criteria for successfully completing a heron that will stand up to the test of time.

If you are interested in participating, please download the artists' packet below to thoroughly understand the guidelines. (this is not an editable packet; you CANNOT type directly on it)

FOLLOWING THE GUIDELINES IS CRUCIAL TO YOUR HERON SURVIVING OUR FLORIDA ELEMENTS!

The packet includes a heron sketch for you to submit your design idea.

You can also submit a form HERE to let us know you intend to submit a design.

(this is not required)

Please also see below for the timeline of completion (more detailed info in packet) and photo examples of similar herons (slightly different mold) from Herons on the Bayou in Louisiana. Thank you!
